Fabulous price. Found best way to cook octopus : Fill a pot w0ith enough water to cover the octopus. I add half a spoon of salt, 1 desertspoon chilli flakes , 1 tbspoon smoked paprika, herbs or anything you fancy. When its boiling add the octopus and simmer on a low heat for 1 to 1.5 hours.
Then add to any recipe...Asian, italian whatever

Italian "Polpo alla Luciana". Simply delicious.
My Recipe:
Defrost octopus, cut in pieces, place in large pot with a drizzle of olive oil, a bit of onion (sliced), some garlic, cut cherry tomatoes, some olives, some capers, a bit of chili (if you like). Seal the pot with glad wrap tied around the rim with a string (needs the be really sealed). Let it cook in it's own liquid for two hours on very low.
Take the glad wrap away, let it cook until the liquid has thickened a bit. Let rest for 5-10 minutes. Serve on a piece of toasted ciabatta - Enjoy!

Cooked the 1.15kg octopus in boiling water with peppercorns, 3 bay leaves, knob of ginger, soy sauce and cooking sake for 1 hour. Cooled it in an ice bath, refrigerated for 2 hours and cut it up into sashimi sized pieces and added to kingfish and salmon for a large sashimi platter. Octopus was super succulent

Simmered the Octopus for 1 hour in aromatics and then grilled it lightly and added to a potato and fennel salad. Might simmer for less next time but it was bangin !
