Discover the rich flavor of Muttonbird - Salted. A beloved delicacy in New Zealand, these deep-south birds have been a favorite for generations. If you're a fan of sardines, anchovies, and tuna, you'll love muttonbird. 

EATING
Our Tītī are salted and brined in buckets, then sold individually. Harvested annually by Rakiura Māori between April and May, Tītī have a bird-like texture with a salty, oceanic flavor reminiscent of fish. To prepare, we recommend rinsing the bird thoroughly and placing it in cold water to slowly bring it to a boil. This helps reduce the saltiness, and the process may need to be repeated depending on the brining duration—taste the water to gauge. After boiling, roast the bird in the oven at high heat until the skin turns crispy.

STORING
If you receive vacuum-packed Tītī from us, you can store it in the fridge in its sealed bag. However, for better preservation, transfer it to an airtight container. Keep it refrigerated and consume within 7 days.

Tītī Islands, near Rakiura (Stewart) Island.

AVERAGE WEIGHT
400 - 600g each, but weight will vary.
